Hey everyone!
I recently completed a fun and creative project where I designed a custom visual theme to monitor my PC’s status using a compact 3.5" display. The theme is fully functional and displays critical system information—like CPU, RAM, storage, and temperature—in real time.
What makes it special, though, is the aesthetic: I drew heavy inspiration from the iconic user interface of the Nostromo spaceship's operating system, featured in Ridley Scott’s Alien (1979). I’ve always loved the retro-futuristic vibes and utilitarian, monochrome look of the film’s tech, so I challenged myself to channel that eerie sci-fi feel into something useful and modern.
The result is a blend of minimalist graphics, bold data overlays, and subtle animations—all wrapped in a vintage, low-res interface that could’ve been pulled straight from Mother’s mainframe.
Would love to hear your thoughts or suggestions. If you’re a fellow sci-fi or Alien fan, I think you’ll appreciate the nods to that universe.
Cheers!
